Screened-in Porch!

Our fabulous screened-in porch has been the focus of this week. The guys were also sanding the mud work to prep for primer and paint, but we didn't really capture that in the photos.
Ed is really dedicated to keeping the bugs out of our porch. He put screening under the floor to prevent any mosquitoes from sneaking through the floor boards. I love the way he's thinking... we all know how much I hate bug bites!

Shopping for toilets...amazing

Tim and I had a life changing experience at Home Depot in Springfield, VA today. I'll let the video footage speak for itself.

New roof, more drywall and paint tones! Oh my!

We have a new roof! We picked a light colored gray roof because we wanted to reduce the heat absorbed into our attic master suite. I'll miss the green one, but this one will be much more energy efficient.

The drywall is pretty much done, and the crew did some mud work and will sand early next week. Meanwhile, we have been busy picking our paint tones. Luckily we had some good advisers visit the house to help out!

Drywall, skylights, roof work and cement patio

So much is happening at the house and I haven't kept us with my posting! (I'm totally back dating these posts to fit when the pictures were actually taken). These photos will show dry walling, our new skylights, the removal of our green roof, and our cement patio (that will be under our screened in porch. I was most impressed by the drywall guys walking around with their stilts like it's no big deal. The roof crew was also fearless!

Tim and I have been shopping for granite, tile, and cabinets. I think we're getting pretty close... we know we want sachi trend stone counter tops, cherry shaker style cabinets, and have most of our tile selected.

Insulation!

The crew has finished installing our insulation, and the house already feels much warmer. They also have dug footers in the back for our screened in porch... exciting stuff. (You'll also see the stack of drywall makes for a great dining room table.)
